Curate at Ellerman House
Brief
To launch Ellerman House’s new fine-dining restaurant, we created a brand identity that reflects their legacy of excellence in art, architecture and guest experience. The aim was to visually unite contemporary cuisine, South African fine art and architectural precision while remaining elegant, understated and true to the Ellerman House brand.
Challenge
We needed to bring together Curate’s mix of art, architecture, food and wine into one clear identity. It had to feel special and considered, but not take away from the experience at the table.
Solution
We developed a refined, collaborative brand identity centered on craftsmanship. At the heart is a bespoke handwritten logo inspired by South African sculptor Angus Taylor, turning the mark into a standalone artwork. The design system reflects Curate’s philosophy: elegant, textural and authentic. Every detail, from signage to menus, was designed as a natural extension of the guest experience.
